Original Broadway Cast Album of ‘Big Fish’ Now Available For Digital Download

The original cast album of Big Fish, produced by Michael Croiter and composer-lyricist Andrew Lippa, is now available for digital download on iTunes. The cast recording of the short-lived recent screen-to-stage adaptation of Tim Burton’s beloved film Big Fish, starring two-time Tony Award winner Norbert Leo Butz, will arrive in-stores February 11.

The digital and hard copies of the album feature a special bonus track “This River Between Us” (cut from the pre-Broadway Chicago engagement), while the iTunes release includes an additional exclusive bonus track, “Magic in the Man” (cut during Broadway previews).

Big Fish, which ended its Broadway run Dec. 29, 2013, is based on the 1998 novel by Daniel Wallace and the subsequent 2003 film by August. Big Fish opened Oct. 6 at Broadway’s Neil Simon Theatre, following previews that began Sept. 5.

Directed by five-time Tony Award® winner Susan Stroman, with music and lyrics by Grammy and Tony Award nominee Andrew Lippa, and a book by Grammy and BAFTA Award nominee John August, Big Fish stars two-time Tony Award winner Norbert Leo Butz as Edward Bloom, Tony Award nominee Kate Baldwin as Sandra Bloom, Tony Award nominee Bobby Steggert as Will Bloom, Krystal Joy Brown as Josephine Bloom, Anthony Pierini and Zachary Unger alternating as Young Will, Ryan Andes as Karl, Ben Crawford as Don Price, and Tony Award nominee Brad Oscar as Amos Calloway.

Big Fish is based on the 1998 novel “Big Fish: A Novel of Mythic Proportions” by Daniel Wallace, and the 2003 critically acclaimed film from Columbia Pictures written by John August. Directed by Tim Burton, the film starred Ewan McGregor, Albert Finney, Billy Crudup, Jessica Lange and Helena Bonham Carter, and was nominated for an Academy Award, Grammy Award, 4 Golden Globe Awards and 7 BAFTA Awards. Big Fish had its pre-Broadway world premiere at Chicago’s Oriental Theatre in a critically-lauded 5-week engagement from Tuesday, April 2, 2013, through Sunday, May 5, 2013.
