Glengarry Glen Ross – An Insider Look At Real Estate

Who better to give insight into the real estate world discussed in ‘Glengarry Glen Ross‘ than an actual realtor? Broadway’s Best Shows has teamed up with Halstead Property’s Brian Lewis to discuss theater, real estate, and the connection between the two through a series of conversations inspired by subjects addressed in the play. We bring Brian’s hands-on experience and knowledge into a direct discussion focused on the world of David Mamet’s ‘Glengarry Glen Ross‘ and its parallels today in the New York real estate market. On top of this, we’ve selected our personal favorites of Brian’s properties.

BBS Asks: In the play, James Lingk has a meeting with Richard Roma to purchase a piece of property. After discussing it with his wife later, they decide not to go through with the deal. Do you have any tips for a prospective buyer or renter on how to find the perfect property for them so they won’t later experience buyer’s remorse?

In my nearly 14 years of selling NYC homes, I’ve always encouraged my buyers and sellers to spend time identifying what they want so that I can help them achieve their property goals. When a client has a clear vision their needs and desires, I can usually manifest it for them. I spend a lot of time helping my clients to clarify and visualize so that they know the right fit when they see/feel it. The NY Times didn’t call me the ultimate luxury “hand holder” for nothing — I’m in it for the long haul for my buyers and sellers.
